About The Role

Together we can change children’s lives. At Place2Be, we believe every child should have easy access to mental health support whenever they need it. We create a safe place in schools where children and young people can open up without pressure or stigma. Allowing our highly skilled and diverse counsellors to reach children, young people and their families who need us.

As a level 4 qualified therapist / counsellor, this exciting project will involve working with children and young people who are emotionally based school refusers providing counselling and other therapeutic interventions aimed at helping them return and remain in an education setting or another positive destination. You’ll work in a combination of community settings alone and within schools delivering Place2Be’s whole school approach including liaising with teachers, parents, carers and other agencies as needed.

This role is peripatetic across Schools and community in South Ayrshire. We are seeking applicants located within the South Ayrshire area and are able to travel flexibly within the locality as and where required.
